The Rebbe once told a boy approaching his Bar Mitzvah:
Just like in a baseball game, there are 2 sides, and whichever side plays hardest wins...
In your heart is a playing field: There are 2 sides, the G-dly soul, a piece of G-d, and the animal soul. It's a fair game- whichever side tries hardest wins. The winner will reveal G-dliness or the opposite...
Until your bar [or bat] mitzvah, it is the minor leagues- a child's game of ball. Now, it's a 'real adult game.'
